A founding member of the American Impressionist group called The Ten, Childe Hassam studied in Paris as a young man and learned from the Masters. After returning to New York, he devoted himself to the capturing moments of everyday street scenes, such as this Boston scene at the recognizable corner of Commonwealth Avenue.
